Depending on your location and business status, taxes may apply to your GigaGlobe invoices. Here's what you need to know.
How Tax Is Calculated
- Tax rates are determined by your billing address (country, state, or province).
- Common taxes include VAT (Europe), GST (Canada, Australia), and sales tax (select US states).
- Tax is applied to the invoice subtotal and shown as a separate line item.
Providing a Tax ID / VAT Number
- Log in to the client portal.
- Navigate to Account > My Details.
- Enter your Tax ID, VAT number, or GST number in the appropriate field.
- Click Save Changes.
- Valid tax IDs may exempt you from certain taxes or enable reverse-charge mechanisms (EU VAT).
Requesting a Tax Exemption
If your organization is tax-exempt (e.g., a registered non-profit or government entity):
- Open a support ticket in the Billing department.
- Attach your tax exemption certificate or proof of tax-exempt status.
- Our team will review and apply the exemption to your account.
Important: Tax exemptions only apply to future invoices. Already-paid invoices with tax cannot be retroactively adjusted.
Note: We are required by law to collect taxes where applicable. If you believe tax was applied incorrectly, contact our billing team for review.
