Some products have different pricing for the first billing term versus subsequent renewals. Understanding this helps you budget accurately.
Why Prices Differ
- Introductory discounts — Many hosting plans offer a reduced first-term price to help you get started.
- Promotional pricing — If you used a promo code, the discount may only apply to the first term.
- Domain pricing — Some domain extensions have lower first-year registration fees with higher annual renewals.
- Market adjustments — Renewal prices may change over time due to registry price increases or cost adjustments.
Checking Renewal Prices
- Log in to the client portal.
- Go to Services > My Services or Domains > My Domains.
- Click on the service or domain to view its details.
- The Recurring Amount field shows the renewal price.
Managing Costs
- Choose longer billing cycles (annual, biennial) for lower per-month rates.
- Watch for renewal promotions that may offer discounts on multi-year renewals.
- Review upcoming renewals regularly under Billing to avoid surprises.
Tip: You'll always see the renewal price on the invoice generated before the due date. Review these invoices to confirm the amounts before they're charged via AutoPay.
