Configuring Email on iOS Devices

You can add your DirectAdmin email account to the built-in Mail app on your iPhone or iPad. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for iOS mail configuration.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down and tap Mail (or Mail, Contacts, Calendars on older iOS versions).
  3. Tap Accounts, then tap Add Account.
  4. Select Other from the list of account types.
  5. Tap Add Mail Account.
  6. Enter the following details:
    • Name: Your display name (shown to recipients).
    • Email: Your full email address (e.g., user@yourdomain.com).
    • Password: Your email account password.
    • Description: A label for this account (e.g., "Work Email").
  7. Tap Next.
  8. Select IMAP at the top of the screen.
  9. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter:
    • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
    • User Name: Your full email address
    • Password: Your email account password
  10. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter:
    • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
    • User Name: Your full email address
    • Password: Your email account password
  11. Tap Next and wait for the settings to be verified.
  12. Tap Save to complete the setup.

Configuring SSL/TLS (Recommended)

After adding the account, configure encryption settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts and tap your new account.
  2. Tap Account, then tap Advanced.
  3. Under Incoming Settings, enable Use SSL and set the port to 993.
  4. Go back and under Outgoing Mail Server, tap the server name.
  5. Enable Use SSL and set the port to 587.
  6. Set Authentication to Password.
If you see a message saying "Cannot Verify Server Identity," this may be due to a self-signed or hostname-mismatched SSL certificate. Tap Continue to proceed, or contact support to verify the correct server hostname.
Ensure your email password does not contain special characters that iOS may misinterpret. If you have trouble connecting, try resetting your email password to one that uses only letters, numbers, and basic symbols.
