Managing Your Active Sessions
DirectAdmin tracks active login sessions for your account. Session management allows you to see where your account is logged in and terminate sessions you do not recognize, which is an important security feature.
Viewing Active Sessions
- Log in to DirectAdmin.
- Navigate to Account Manager.
- Click on Login History or Session Management.
- You will see a list of currently active sessions and recent login attempts.
Session Details
Each session entry typically shows the following information:
- IP Address - The IP address from which the session was initiated.
- Login Time - The date and time the session started.
- Last Activity - The most recent action performed in that session.
- Browser/User Agent - The browser or application used to log in.
Terminating a Session
If you notice a session you do not recognize or want to log out of a device remotely:
- Locate the suspicious or unwanted session in the list.
- Click the Kill or Terminate button next to that session.
- The session will be ended immediately and that device will need to log in again.
If you see login attempts from unfamiliar IP addresses, change your password immediately and enable two-factor authentication if you have not already done so.
Session Timeout Settings
DirectAdmin sessions expire after a period of inactivity. The default timeout is typically 20 to 30 minutes. If your session expires, you will be redirected to the login page and must enter your credentials again.
For shared or public computers, always log out manually by clicking Logout in the top-right corner rather than simply closing the browser window.
