Managing Parked Domains

0 Was this answer helpful?

Parked domains (also called domain aliases or pointers) allow multiple domain names to display the same website content. This is useful when you own several domain variations.

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
  2. Navigate to Account Manager > Domain Pointers.
  3. Enter the domain you want to park/alias.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Update the parked domain's nameservers to point to your hosting server.

When to Use Parked Domains

  • You own yourdomain.com and yourdomain.net — park .net to show .com content
  • You have common misspellings of your domain registered
  • You want multiple domains for marketing campaigns pointing to the same site
Tip: For SEO purposes, parked domains should redirect (301) to your primary domain rather than showing duplicate content. DirectAdmin handles this automatically with domain pointers.

Unlike addon domains, parked domains do not have their own separate content directory — they simply mirror your primary domain.
