Understanding the DirectAdmin Dashboard

After logging in, you are presented with the DirectAdmin dashboard. This is your central hub for managing all aspects of your hosting account. Familiarizing yourself with the layout will help you navigate efficiently.

Main Navigation Sections

The dashboard is organized into several key areas:

  • Account Manager - Manage your personal account settings, password, and login details.
  • Email Manager - Create and manage email accounts, forwarders, autoresponders, and mailing lists.
  • Advanced Features - Access cron jobs, SSL certificates, DNS management, and more.
  • System Info & Files - File manager, site statistics, error logs, and phpMyAdmin access.
  • Domain Setup - Add and manage domains, subdomains, and domain pointers.

Resource Usage Meters

At the top or side of your dashboard, you will see resource usage indicators showing:

  1. Disk Space - How much storage you have used out of your total allocation.
  2. Bandwidth - Monthly data transfer usage.
  3. Email Accounts - Number of email accounts created versus your limit.
  4. Databases - MySQL databases in use versus your limit.
  5. Domains - Number of domains and subdomains configured.
Resource meters reset on a monthly basis for bandwidth usage. Disk space is cumulative and does not reset.

Quick Access Icons

The dashboard features icon-based shortcuts to the most commonly used tools. Hover over any icon to see its description. You can customize which icons appear by adjusting your skin settings under Account Manager > Skin.
